Setting Up Pacing Alerts

Configure real-time alerts to catch overspending and underpacing before it's too late.

Pacing alerts notify you when ad spend deviates from your budget targets. Catch problems early and take action before minor issues become major budget blowouts.

Alert Types

Available alert types:

  • Overspend Alert: Triggered when spend exceeds daily/monthly target by X%
  • Underpace Alert: Triggered when spend is below target by X%
  • Budget Exhausted: Triggered when monthly budget is fully spent
  • No Data Alert: Triggered when no spend data is received for X hours

Configuring Thresholds

Navigate to Settings > Alerts to configure your thresholds. We recommend starting with these settings:

Recommended thresholds:

  • Overspend: Alert at 110% of daily target
  • Underpace: Alert at 80% of daily target
  • Budget Exhausted: Alert at 95% of monthly budget
  • No Data: Alert after 6 hours without data

Notification Channels

Choose where you receive alerts:

Available channels:

  • Email: Sent to your account email address
  • Slack: Post alerts to a Slack channel (connect in Integrations)
  • In-App: Notifications appear in the AdBudgetBuddy dashboard

Set up Slack alerts for your media team channel. Real-time visibility helps everyone stay aligned.

Alert Frequency

By default, alerts are batched and sent hourly to prevent notification fatigue. For critical issues, you can enable immediate alerts in Settings > Alerts > Frequency.
