Troubleshooting Data Sync Issues

Solutions for common issues with ad platform data syncing.

If your ad spend data isn't syncing correctly, follow these troubleshooting steps to identify and resolve the issue.

Common Issues

No Data Showing

Check these items:

  • Verify the integration is connected (Settings > Integrations)
  • Check that you selected the correct ad accounts during setup
  • Ensure your ad account has active campaigns with spend
  • Try manually triggering a sync with the refresh button

Stale or Outdated Data

Possible causes:

  • Data syncs every 4 hours - recent spend may not appear yet
  • Ad platform API may have delays (especially weekends)
  • Your connection token may have expired - try reconnecting

Mismatched Spend Numbers

If AdBudgetBuddy shows different numbers than your ad platform dashboard:

Common causes:

  • Time zone differences - ensure time zones match
  • Currency conversion - check currency settings
  • Attribution windows - AdBudgetBuddy uses spend date, not conversion date
  • Data delay - ad platforms may take 24-48 hours to finalize spend

Ad platform spend data can take up to 72 hours to finalize. What you see today may adjust slightly over the next few days.

Re-authenticating a Connection

If an integration shows 'Connection Error', you need to re-authenticate:

Steps to reconnect:

  • Go to Settings > Integrations
  • Find the disconnected platform
  • Click 'Reconnect'
  • Complete the OAuth flow
  • Re-select your ad accounts
